Event last week was pretty fun. Wet conditions made it a pretty slick track for everyone so there was a bit of spinning out done by everyone hah. Good thing was that it finally dried up towards the end of the day and ended being a whole lot of fun. I realized how bad i need a cage that day as all i want to do anymore is tandem tandem tandem. Hopefully by next spring that will become a reality.

Big thanks to Western Dakota Tech for allowing us to use their lot, the instructors that showed up so we could hold the event, all the photographers that ended up showing up, monster for providing some goodies to hand out, and all the drivers and spectators for showing up.

So not too long ago me and J. Wood were talking about food more specifically Hoestess and the fact that here in South Dakota you cant get a Hoestess product. So i went on a hunt looking every where Walmart, Target, Every gas station within 200 miles (no joke). I found nothing! Whats a guy to do?

Call on homies that are out of state, thats what you do. So props to Brando who lugged back a box of twinkies and ding dongs from AZ, My Grandma who sent me two boxes of twinkies and a box of ho-ho's from TX, My wife who lugged back 4 boxes of twinkies from Denver and Mr. Matt T. who mailed me a box of twinkies from MN. So i had 8 boxes of twinkies, a box of ding dongs and a box of ho-ho's. RIGHT FRICKEN ON! So far 4 box of twinkies down and the box of ding dongs out (as shown by my picture and all in a weeks time might i add) thanks guys. On a good note I have only gained one pound, ha ha ha

Western Dakota Tech drift event

Its not very often we in South Dakota get to have an actual drift event. So when Western Dakota Tech.(WDT) puts on their twice a year autocross/drift everyone jumps at the chance. This WDT event was a bit different though as a friend, Roger, and I set this one up and instead of mostly auto-x it was all drifting although a few FWD's came and tried their hearts out (props to the guy in the eclipse) it was a RWD course especially with a donut performed around a pole and a figure 8 that was put into the course. Over the next few days chase and i will try to post up as many pics as we can. So a video or two and the first installment of photos.

Where did summer go?

After what seemed to be a week long summer we have arrived back at winter again. 40 degree temps, foggy rainy and cold. Major bummer. So where have we all been?

Me I have been stuck in SoDak. My wife and I had another baby 4 months ago to the day so I have been busy with that which leads to no events at all this year. Other than that the car has fallen by the way side and the scooter is front stage at the moment.

Tiny, J. Wood and Brady have basically accomplished the same as me but only Justin has a scooter which may have pics posted soon.

Our only saving grace right now is Jake, who gets to go to all these events jerk and chase who is poor but some how manages to do all this stuff to his car.

On a less dreary note tomorrow a friend and i have convinced a local school here to use their parking lot for a small drift day so photos will be up soon

So glad it's the weekend, school is absolutely killing me and i need a little break. Today i got the bumper, fender, sideskirts, and trunk lip on the car! The rest of the car definitely needs to be repainted though.. The color isn't incredibly off that it's unbearable but it annoys me. I'm just going to rock it like this and we'll see how things go through the winter.

Paint does need a good wetsanding as i was having some major issues with the paint/gun (minus the sideskirts) so once the paint hardens a bit i'll get that done. Other than that I'm just enjoying not having an insanely faded front bumper.

Oni Jake did something summer

So this has been a long time. After getting out of the Air Force and doing the entire school thing back home in Michigan this past winter I took a semester off of the summer to do the drifting thing and get used to the regional area. Try to make friends and see who is who here.

During May '10 I installed my HKS Step 1 cams, 850CC injectors, and also fixed misc. shit throughout the car.

I also decided to ditch the old rims and got some 17x10 FNs.

At the end of May I went down to Touge Factory in Chicago to get a street tune and found out I had some sort of vacuum leak. Not really wanting to drive 5 hours down there again, I fixed the leak and never got a solid tune. I'm estimated to still be missing somewhere like 15-30HP due to a shit tune from the leak. I'm not really worried about it considering all I really need is 3rd gear. I had no plans on hitting up somewhere like Irwindale where a responsive 4th gear is needed so drifting here I come!

I went out practicing at Michigan's local track, Autocity located in the murder capitol of the U.S.: Flint, MI.

So I went out to the Mid West All Star Bash and Kris decided to bitch out, along with all of the other S.D. guys so I teamed up with the 2 other guys that came from Michigan. Ryan and Mike. U.S. Air in Shawano is probably the funnest fucking track I have ever been on. I highly recommend it to everyone. Anyways, after the fun we had a team tandem comp for bragging rights, me and my other Michigan friends won 2nd place which is pretty good for never drifting the track before that weekend. Good times and look forward to next year.

The following month I played in the Drift Battle 2010 of Michigan which I somehow managed to squeeze my way into first place. Mind blown and I got really lucky. Pix from that

So using that momentum I decided to go to the Drift Effect in Cleveland with a $4k purse. I get there and start practicing the course in 3rd gear learning my line and taking it easy when I start seeing crash after crash into the unforgivable white wall. After I seen Austin Barron crash his car I got psyched out and went back to 2nd gear. His car went from total awesome status to crushed beer can in 3 crashes. So I sucked it up and qualified 12th and did horrible. But some pictures came out of it!

So that's the end of the season for me. The car is in storage and I'm doing the school thing again. I'm thinking next year should be better as I'm giving it some thought to participate in the MDU series.

I had called Brady to see what was going on that night, and he told me to go ahead and swing on over so we snapped a couple of my POS as well. My car looks crazy haggard compared to the fresh paint/kit/look of Brady's car.

Exhaust nastiness

The car has been running real well lately, it's nice to actually enjoy something you put so much work into every now and then.

Back to fixing stuff on the car.. this time, i raised the engine in the front and so my exhaust was rotated downwards in the back... finally the exhaust hanger broke in the rear from the added force and i just got around to fixing it.

And so it begins..

Old rusted hanger that broke, I hate going under the rear of my car because i realize how rusty it actually is..

Cut some slits in the exhaust so i could bolt it back up to the headers, raise the exhaust in the rear, then tack it back on after it's positioned.

It's not pretty, but it works. Rest of the frame is rusted so i figured... ehhh whatever.

Rally week

Well around these parts there is a week (more like two) that tons of bikes (harleys, sportbikes, customs, trikes etc) come to a little town called Sturgis to party it up. Basically they turn a 2000 person town into a 250K+++ town. People are all over. This is in addition to the tourists that are here to see the sights. So drifting and all around driving pretty much suck this week. What to do? Ride scooters!! Me and a few other fellows thought it would be fun to take our scooters to the rally and ride around. Here's is a few pictures

Was cruising around on Ziptied and found this video. The Japanese drifters are getting so out of hand its nuts. The videos posted below are of Daigo Saito and his Chaser at a D1 qualifying event. Basically he jumps the car off the race curb then long slides the straight, absolutely insane!!! Seeing guys like this go all out makes me love drifting even more. From my understanding there is more footage out there of his missile car really getting air.

We are street drifters and not because of choice the nearest track is 8hrs away. So we do our thing on the street and if we are lucky get to attend one event a year. In my 8 years or so of drifting I (and a few others) have managed to not attract attention of unwanted people so what to do when all the irresponsable kiddies screw up the roads and attract cops? Get a missile and take advantage of the other kind of roads we have--dirt. Yeah yeah yeah, isnt that rally? Well kind yeah but around here there are tons of dirt twisties--hit them up then in the wee wee wee hours go to paved places.

The FMIC was swapped for a SMIC (less likely to get smashed) plus it was donated to my other car dubbed Allison (AKA the purple bitch), Coilovers sold to tiny for his car, and the diff to be sold.

We (well Rapid City guys) have all known this cat for sometime. We saw him in his infancy when he couldn't drift worth a crap then blossom into a guy thats able to hang with the best of us. Mr. Brady Mills.

In times past he rolled in an S14 then decided to trade for this s13 coupe. Needless to say no matter what car he had he was gonna be doing work. The coupe had some beat up kit on it, rust here and there, some wiring issues and eventually rod knock showed up on the SR that it had.

So long story short after rockin a Ka in the car for a month he couldn't stand it so he has another SR now and was even able to trade his old pile o' poo Sr for wide fenders and a new kit. So here is the car as it sits now. Its needs paint and less ugly wheels but in good time that will all happen and maybe some neat OG sticker(s) will adorn the car after that

had a drift day at a local college this past weekend, lower speeds but was pretty ill non the less, good turnout for the area...

After a 3 day event of trying to get my tires mounted we finally managed to figure out a method that works. Kris, Tiny and I met at Tiny's place to have a little tire mounting fun. There was lots of starting fluid and fire involved. Although it was a blast and burned off some hair, it did not have the effect we were looking for. We watched countless YouTube video's on people using the starting fluid and it just popping in place..... bullshit i tell you.

So after trying to get a 235/40 on a 18x10.5 rpf1 failed miserably i went and got two 245/40's It failed just as hard using all the tricks in the book at multiple shops. One major problem is that the sidewall was just so damn stiff. The *Extra Load* text on the sidewall obviously meant a big F-You to stretching.

Anyways, procedure that ended up working was as follows:

Play with fire + 50% ether starting fluid. (spray starting fluid into gap of rim/tire, light it on fire)

^Heats up the tire and makes it more pliable

Then used an 18" bike inner tube to fill the gap in between the rim and the tire while you air up tire. The inner tube is going to want to pop out on occasion so you have to kind of keep it in there.

Then once it seats take it out.

Presto, stretched tire on an rpf1.

I think maybe this next weekend we're going to take them off and put the 235's back on to see if we can get those to mount using this method as it took no more than 15 min. to air up both wheels.

We all have been failing super hard lately at keeping this site up to date. Kris and i keep saying to each other "we have to at LEAST update it once a week". It just hasn't been happening lately for some reason.

Anyways, i got my car finally running/drivable. The VH feels super good. Really peppy and i'm hoping a bit quicker than before with the tune/flywheel/exhaust improvements. It idle's super smooth and the only issue i seem to be having is a mysterious oil leak and a belt i cant seem to get tight enough - squeals like HELL.

Got my rear rims the other day to match the front. Different sizes of course, fronts are 17x10 +18 and the rears are 18x10.5 +15. Pretty aggressive for the stock rear panels so it'll be quite the experience trying to get these up and under there. Gonna have a nice little BBQ/fender rolling day on Saturday i believe and see what can or can't be done. Also noted is how damn light these things are! RPF1's weigh less than a new born child... not really, but the 18's do weigh only 19 lbs!

sooooo went out messin around the other night with cud, after about 15 min of playin i dropped off doin some monji and somehow curbed the shit outta of one of my rear euroline, lucky me it was on the inside lip. 20 min later was hitting up some turns on a local road and my LR brake locked up, damn pos 240's, funniest part of the night was on the way home, we stopped at a gas staition to let the brakes cool for a bit, was only there for 5 min before a cop rolled in and started telling us he got a report of my car racing a purple neon, and by my car i mean "a dark car with stickers" i like to think he was surprised when we both laught in his face...lol anyways got all new pads and rotors all the way round now and fixed the curbage, but while taking my wheel off 6 of my rear studs pulled threads needless to say i was pissed...

oooOhh an update. Motors in and running.

Found several issues--fuel leak, broken injector connectors. My wide band 02 also had a wire come loose and fry itself so need to buy one of those, my TC rods are screwed (need new ones cant decide on brand-I am a poser and the shiny colors get me flustered). Finally changed the diff fluid, and got ride of The ugly as fuck bumper support thingy and made a nice one at work today. Other than that need to yank motor and paint bay, plan on fixing the F'd up dash, cleaning up some wiring, a new manual rear brake, and maybe subframe risers and maybe a new FMIC as my is a crooked POS. then TIRE TIRES TIRES. trying to get ready for mid west ASB or some event somewhere cause South Dakota aint gonna cut it.

So generally I would tell a story about how I met all the guys and how we came to be. Really, in a nut shell it goes like this. In chronological order of course.

J.Wood and I have been friends for going on 11 years or more--Raced BMX together, street raced together and well just do stuff together. Nothing real interesting he has seen me poop, I have heard stories of the dirty things he and his wife do together..............from both of them!

I stalked Jake one fine evening after hearing about his S14. Low and behold he was an airforce guy stationed at our lovely base. We keep in touch via pm's and he usually tells me to update this site.

Chase. I met this cat via our local car forums. Pm'd him he came over for food and now its all O'bama style fistings and smiles. I love this guy.

Paucie and Tiny. I kinda heard of tiny and never heard of paucie whom, have been good friends for awhile. I guess they started calling me drift Jesus at one time because the all the kids were jockin me but I was never to be seen. So much like Jesus--its all belief but no visual confirmation. One night while I heard the kids were goin drifting, it was cold and slushy out--my car doesn't go out in crummy conditions--so I called Chase and asked if he wanted to go out. He said he cant cause he is drunk, I offer to drive (his car of course), he bites, lucky me.

So we take the NASCAR 240 to the hills and low and behold Tiny, Paucie and a slew of other guys were there, Tiny and P-diddle see I am real but realize I am no Jesus. I drive the shit out of chases car, his butt puckers the whole time....FWD a few days I some how meet up with Tiny--we become good friends.

To date I have texted paucie thousands more times than I have seen him--I have seen the guy twice--once at ASB and once last weekend--he might be the semi-Jesus here.

The car--well got it for 50 bucks with spray paint all over stating curse words, have had it for about 5 years, and it has gone through many phases. I love her just wish I would have gone a different color but here she is..with a mod list even

I remember how I first got into drifting. Back in 01 Me and a J. Wood went on our annual trip to California to visit some of my family and get away from the cold frigid north.

As usual we would just drive around to shops to check things out and look for over all ricer stuff. Being into drag racing of sorts with my Dodge neon-no body had anything cool (or maybe it was I who had nothing cool). Driving along we see this shop by the name of island performance. There were tons of movies in their cabinet guy said 20 bucks so we bought one---a options drift video.

I had knew of drifting, wanted to do it, but lacked the equipment. I had even ass-slide my neon a time or two failing at actual drifting (it was FWD you know). Before I had actually watched this video I half heartedly looked for a RWD car of any type but never succeeded and it wasn't a big deal. I figured the video might be fun to watch and perhaps even stoke the fire of wanting a drift car...........long story short it did--i bought a 240 3 days after i got back to SD from that trip.

the clip from that Options video I most remember is this one:

The cars long low look, the sound of what i can only assume is a 2jz on full boil.............in short I was and still am in love.

Until last night I just filed that clip away in my brain but then I stumbled on Ameen Rizvi's myspace page--my love/passion was rekindled not only cause he had that very same video up but his cressida is one sight to behold. Needless to say i want a Chaser (any year), a verossa, a gloria, a cedric, laurel, cefiro and the list goes on basically any of the Japanese 4 doors I would be happy with driving.

So I will stop typing now and just post some pics of thing i want but cannot have.

Well sometimes life sucks--turns out it sucked bad for me one day. I finally decided to shell out the cash for wheels i have always wanted --WORK VSKF's. Well after about a month of having them, 3 days after getting my car wide bodied and painted i thought it would be fun to crash it................turns out it was expensive--almost.

I tore a side skirt in half, smashed in the frame, broke a fender, and bent the crap out of one of my wheels.

FWD to early December after looking all over to either have the wheel fixed or replaced I found Performance wheel repair in Walnut CA. I knew nothing about the guy the business or anything just a post on a website saying they fixed wheels for Falken.

I called them up spoke to Marco Guerra needless to say he was a real cool dude and I decided to send him the wheel i broke. What sucked even more is me and tiny bent it back good enough to dive on it at ASB 09'. So i did some more cosmetic damage to it.
needless to say this guy is Awesome in every way call him for all you messed up spendy wheels. Customer service was top notch and the quality is phenomenal

Alright, seems as though this blog has been slacking quite a bit lately and seeing as my little background info/whatever isn't up yet, I'll indulge you all with a small story.

To start things off, the name is Chase Gardner. I'm originally from Minnesota and am going to school out here SD. When i got here i found the local forum and joined... and once i got my car out here a year or so later i ended up meeting Kris. Eventally i met Justin as he's one of Kris' long time "homie's" and ended up meeting Tiny at one of the few lame drift/auto-x events out here. We then met a while later through Kris since he seems to be a human magnet. I've yet to meet Paucie or Jake, but like Paucie said he did send me a picture of him puking..

A little history on my car is that after getting screwed over on an SR front clip like 4 or 5 years ago (still haven't gotten all the money back..) i figured out that nissan made a v8, and a badass one at that, in the form of the VH45de. So i went out and got one, made a bunch of crap to put it in there and low and behold.. a 450sx.

So currently, my car is in pieces as my trans decided to take a shit on my driving home one day. Got a pickup as a DD and am now going through the s13 once again while its winter to make it more respectable. Making a new oil pan so i dont destroy countless pans from being too low. The tally is at 2 in less than a year so far.. Also re-doing the wiring and painted the bay.

I'm also doing the college thing. Hopefully can graduate some day and make some decent money. Now i'm done talking as i feel like i've said more than enough. So here's some pics.

Profile: Justin

This guy and I started drifting together forever ago. Since he didn't "feel" like writing something about himself I will make a blurb. His story and mine are pretty much the same, with the exception of a few things he has been there since day one in regards to me and rapid city drifting scene..or lack there of. He got into drifting cause he got tired of ridin along with me and hearin me say " get a car damn it"....at least thats what i think.

His first car was a corolla coupe he traded a few cases of beer for. No heater, trunk filled with old porn mags, and lots of crappiness but I think it was a GT-S at least. Justin and I would go out all hours of the night sliding around and back then (03'-04') would even just go to parking lots on Sunday afternoons and stay for hours on end. We were young and stupid and never thought twice about the legal ramifications would we of gotten caught. We were idiots, but damn if it wasn't a good time.

So FWD to now he got a new Corolla a few years ago and babys the damn thing like its some type of precious metal (maybe it is). So he is now talking about turboing it and I am saying new paint and wheels, lol. Either way here is Justins baby and the parts he has been SLOWLY adding to it over the years. Since he likes to accel at being half ass he only gave me one pic of the rolla and i cant find the pic of me peeing on the tire from years back so one small pic is all yah get I guess.

Most of the time I a firm believer i am talking to myself on this blog thing. Whatever, its fun.

After thinking about this blog I thought it would be necessary for an intro of who OG is. Basically we are a few guys that oddly only sorta know each other someway or another.

So I decided to do an OG member profile. Each profile will tell that story about how the hell we come to know each other and a small piece about each member written by that person.

What the f%&*, is this 605racing?? Well lets see, I met Tiny about 5 or 6 years ago when he and the rest of "Hillside Society" mobbed my S14 in a parking lot. After lots of mountain driving and house parties we became pretty damned good friends.

Jumping to 2009, "Hillside Society" is long gone and everyone went there separate ways, Tiny and I kept in contact and he finally got me to move up to South Dakota last January. Within the 4 months I was up there I managed to get banned from the local forums i think 4 times, and somehow Mr. Chocolate Love(K. Cud) got my number and we started talking, however we could never get him to come and hang out. So I didn't meet him until he and Tiny met up with us in Vegas to shower in out hotel room on the way out to ASB. Once we got to Cali I met Jake and probably said maybe 2 words to the guy when he asked me where Cud was at....I have yet to meet Chase or Justin, but i did send Chase a picture of me puking grape juice.

Currently: also working on a damn piece of paper so i can get money.

Jake, what a funny bastard. Since Rapid City is relatively small town (about 60K) I hear about every drift car that comes along. So i had heard about some kid from "japan" that had a white S14. One night I saw this white S14 and a white S13 rollin down the road. So after a bit of speeding/chasing I flagged the guys down, one of which was jake. After a bit of chatting we just started hanging out and sorta drifting together just not much. That was like in 05 or something FWD to july 09.

After chatting with jake on Ziptied a bit we decided we needed to do a team tandem at ASB, one issue there were only two of us, oh well, we can make it work. So tiny and I headed down from SD, Paucie some how drank his way to ASB from CO with a few buddies, and Jake lived in Ca at the time so he was pretty much there already.

First thing Tiny says to me about jake is "That guy is kind of a dick! I think he's chill". So Next thing you people are getting drunk and all friends.

Hey, I'm Jake. I've been into drifting since 2001 where I started out doing Gymkhana at Yokota AFB, Japan during my sophomore year in Highschool with a beater hobby car. I think it was a 89' Toyota Levin and did horrible. Once me and my friends got our hands on a N/A S13 that was already used and abused we stepped our game up. It wasn't until a good friend road with me when he told me, "just let go of the steering wheel" (in reference to coming back around a cone) that something just finally clicked and I was now drifting! Ever since then, it's been practicing. Been all over Japan doing stupid shit and making American's look awesome. I even got a chance to drift on a few tracks at Ebisu Circuit. So I moved to the states and due to a roundabout way of stupid shit, I finally participated in my first stateside event at the All Star Bash 09. Next year, I'm looking forward to the Mid West Bash! See you ladies out there.

Currently: Spending money towards college to get a sheet of paper that entitles me to more money.

Seems winter came way early--snow, freezing rain, you name it the weather sucks. So no drifting. However a whole lot of scootin is goin on. got board did a custom paint job with rainbow flake on sunday. Then went and promptly rode it in the cold shit weather. Heres some pics.

winter is coming on and the tourists have for the most part left the area. (which means if there isnt snow we can take advantage of our favorite roads).

Just a taste of the roads we have to play on (old photos but you get the idea)

things have been slow, lately for all of us i think. Tiny was caught up moving, paucie was abducted by aliens or something and I well have gotten into another hobby for the time being.

I picked up an 09' honda ruckus. The thing is fun as shit! Got a few things done to it of course and will even be trying to ride the thing when the snow flies. So a teaser pic of it for now--have a few things I plan on doing to it very soon.

All of our group team whatever (sounds fast and furious kinda when we call it a team ha ha ha) all made it in one shape or form to All Star Bash at willow springs raceway. Indeed one of the best times i have had in a very long time. Tiny and Paucie didnt get to drive but I did! So we will all be able to be at one event or another as our own spiffy group.

I was insane to me that my redneck S13 was actually considered decent--my driving well lets say I wish we had tracks here in South Dakota
